Manduka Eco Mat
Manduka's mat made from natural rubber wood eKO is designed for environmental yogis. Made from rubber from non-Amazonian trees, eKO is fully recyclable and environmentally friendly. It is compatible with your health and the environment. Its dense structure protects your joints and its natural structure protects the environment.
Features of eKO Mat
Manduka's prominent cushioning feature is also available in the 5 mm thick eKO mat. You will feel the comfort of its soft texture while practicing on the mat.
Thanks to the slightly sticky structure of the upper surface of the mat, you do not slip during movement transitions and you maintain your balance. However, since the closed-cell structure of the mat does not absorb the liquid, it may become slippery in case of intense sweating. In this case, it is recommended to use your mat together with a yoga mat towel. If you are a person who sweats a lot, the yoga mat towel will prevent you from slipping. The towel absorbs the liquid and prevents it from passing to the surface of the mat, ensuring that your performance continues without interruption.
eKO mat was developed by yoga teachers as a result of 4 years of work.
The product components are 99% latex-free.
eKO mat is stronger and more durable than any other natural rubber mat on the market.
Having a natural structure causes the mat to be more delicate than synthetic products. For this reason, for Ashtanga or intense Vinyasa sessions, you can choose a mat from the more durable PRO series instead of the eKO series.
Since the material of the mat is natural rubber, it requires more frequent and more detailed maintenance. To ensure a longer life of the eKO, clean it regularly after each use. For this, Manduka's special rubber cleaning solutions use it and fold it up properly after the mat is dry.
The surface of the mat may have a tendency to dry out in hot climates. This will cause the product to lose its flexibility and wear out quickly. Therefore, keep your eKO mat better in hot climates and never expose the mat to direct sunlight.
Sustainability
In the production process of the basic model of the eKO series, no toxic chemicals, unhealthy dyes and flexibility enhancers are used. The eKO mat is made from sustainably harvested rubber from trees that grow outside of the Amazon forest. Since it is natural, it will wear out over time and its lifespan will end. When this happens, it will maintain its environmentalist character. Although mat can be recycled or become waste, it is biodegradable.
